William "Bill" Tagtmeyer Obituary

LINCOLN

  Willaim “Bill” H. Tagtmeyer, 81, passed away Saturday, November 16, 2024 at Parkview Care Center in Osborne, KS. He was born April 11, 1943 in Goodland, KS to Herman and Maxine (Johnson) Tagtmeyer. Bill was a graduate of Goodland High School. He married Cecilia L’Ecuyer in Clay Center, KS on November 4, 2000. Bill was a district sales manager for various seed companies. In his early years, he enjoyed competing in roping events at rodeos, fishing, and coyote hunting. Later in life, these hobbies gave way to a new passion in golf. He also loved to play poker, pinochle, and pitch.

  Bill is survived by his wife Cecilia of Lincoln, KS; son Patrick Tagtmeyer (Jessica) of Smith Center, KS;  brother Larry Tagtmeyer (LaVerne) of Montgomery, TX; grandson Jarret Tagtmeyer of Dodge City, KS; step children, Kae Hayworth of Lincoln, KS, Wayne Ray (Lisa) of Clay Center, and Jon Ray (Julie) of Topeka, KS; along with two great grandchildren, nephews, many step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Brenda Armstrong; son Michael “Mike” Tagtmeyer; and step son-in-law Roger Hayworth.

  A celebration of life is planned for 2-4 p.m., Saturday, December 7, 2024 at the Lincoln Senior Center in Lincoln, KS. Inurnment will take place at a later date at the Goodland Cemetery in Goodland, KS.

  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Lincoln Senior Center or Lincoln Golf Club, c/o, Hall Chapel, PO Box 37, Lincoln, KS 67455.
