He was preceded in death by: his parents; brother, Virgil; and sister, Dorlene Lohmann. Left to celebrate his life include: his wife, Sara (McKinney) Walter, of Salina; son, Reid Walter and wife Michelle, of Lawrence; brothers, Gerald Walter, of Lincoln, Wilbur Smith and wife Phyllis, of Herington, Silas Smith and wife Peggy, of Hazelwood, MO; sister, Elvera Miller and husband Harold, of Overland Park; and three grandchildren, Henry, Samuel and Rye. Visitation: 1-7:00 P.M. Monday, October 12, at Hall Chapel, Lincoln. Funeral: 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, October 13, at St. John Lutheran Church, Lincoln.
