Roland F. Detmer, 86, of Lincoln, KS, died Tuesday, March 4, 2014, in Salina. Roland was born in rural Lincoln County Kansas on June 9, 1927, to Ernst and Bertha (Mussmann) Detmer. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Dalton Detmer. Left to celebrate his life include: wife Marvel L. (Maze) Detmer, of the home; sons Bill (Joan) Detmer and Dale (Carol) Detmer, both of Lincoln; brother Alfred (Betty) Detmer, of Fremont, NE; sisters Paula (Dean) Hamilton, of Minneapolis, KS and Verla (Wayne) Meier, of Thermopolis, WY; 4 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Visitation is 1-7:00 P.M. Friday, March 7 at Hall Chapel, Lincoln, KS. Family will be present 5-7:00 P.M. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 8, at St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Lincoln, KS. Interment will follow in St. Pauls Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Pauls Lutheran Church or Lincoln County Hospital.
