Pearl L. Ryan-Hayes, 92, died Friday, July 11, 2014, at Lincoln Park Manor, Lincoln, KS. She was born to William Bill and Florence (Tilton) Crawford on February 26, 1922, in Lincoln, KS. Pearl attended Malone School and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1940. She was a newspaper reporter at the Lincoln Sentinel. In October 1940, Pearl married Rex W. Ryan in Minneapolis, KS, and they were married for 53 years. Rex and Pearl enjoyed square dancing, golf, playing cards and travel, including bus trips and cruises. Pearl was preceded in death by: her parents; brothers, Jay Crawford (1989) and Ross Crawford (2005); husband, Rex (1992); daughters, Shelia Kay Harris (2011) and Rexann Donahoo Mohling (1990). Pearl is survived by: daughter, Charlene Joyce Ryan Jeffers (Marlin); son-in-law, Terry Harris; grandchildren, Alison Harris Rider (Timothy), Alan Donahoo, Barbara Harris Gray (Ed), Kenneth Jeffers (Dulce), Stacey Jeffers Gonzales (fiancé Eric Paytosh); great-grandchildren Taylor Gray, Brook Gray, Matthew Rider, Kahlan Young, Chloe Jeffers, Cassidy Jeffers; great-great-granddaughter, Navayah Robb. In November 1995, Pearl married Loyd Hayes in Las Vegas and they were married for 18 years. Loyd and Pearl enjoyed square dancing, golf, playing cards and travel, including spending winters in Arizona. Pearl was preceded in death by Loyd in 2014. Pearl is survived by: step-son, Randy Hayes (Dee), step-daughters Cyndi Fassler (Jerry), Janice Wright (David), Lee Ann Shearer (Bryan); step-grandchildren, Jeff Feagin (Alisha), Kasey Feagin (Jason Engle), Joshua Fassler (Michele), Jerrod Fassler, Jesse Fassler, Carson Wallace, Devin Shearer, Rebecca Wright, Gavin Shearer, Robyn Wright; step-great-grandchildren Christopher and Tempa Lee Feagin and Serenity Fassler. Memorial services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at Lincoln Park Manor, 922 N. 5th St., with graveside service at 11:00 AM at Lincoln City Cemetery. A luncheon will follow at the Lincoln United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lincoln Park Manor Special Projects.
