  Nicole Lea Veal, 45, passed away Friday, April 26, 2024 at her home in Lincoln, KS. She was born July 5, 1978 in Salina, KS to Richard Fern, Jr. and Kay (Harshberger) Fern. Nicole married Charles Veal in Salina on April 19, 2002. She worked for many years as a CNA in elderly care homes.

  Nicole is survived by her children, Charles Cody and Braxton Annette Veal both of Lincoln; mother Kay Chapin (Rick) of Lincoln; brother Cody Fern (Amber) and their children, Carter, Cameron, and Bradee of Lincoln; sisters, Kelsey Dodd (Seth) of Topeka, KS and Christina Daniels of Omaha, NE; sister-in-law, Gloria Davis (Joseph) of Killeen, TX; brother-in-law, James Veal of Arizona; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and step-sisters. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Fern, Jr. and husband, Charles Veal.

  Graveside memorial service: 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at Sunny Side Cemetery, near Barnard, KS.
