Loren David Slate, 61, of Lincoln KS, died of natural causes on Friday, 4 November 2011, at his home. He was born 25 December 1949 to Alvin and Bupha Slate of Jewell KS. He married Marsha McIntyre on 1 August 1967. His friends remember his love of hunting, trapping, and playing cards. Loren was one of a kind. Like his father and grandfather, he could do almost anything. He was always making things that came to his mind. He loved a challenge. He loved his family deeply. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Marsha; two daughters, Carey Jae McCreary of Broomfield CO, and Jody Ann (Curt) Free of Salina; seven grandchildren, Ashley McCreary, Miranda McCreary, David McCreary, Evan McCreary, Lauren McCreary, Annika Free, and Dane Free; and three sisters, Janice (Bill) Schumacher of Jewell, Jolene (Jerry) Jeffries of Augusta, and Norma Jean (Walter) Mayne of Augusta.
