Obituary
LINCOLN
Lois Arlene Kuchera, 86, passed away Monday, September 26, 2022, in Topeka, KS. She was born October 5, 1935, in Scandia, KS, to Vernon and Vivian (Thomas) Erickson. After graduating from Scandia High School, Lois earned a teaching certificate from Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina then went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in education from Kansas State Teachers College (now Emporia State University.) Lois then taught elementary education in many small towns in north central Kansas. She married Paul Kuchera in Scandia on May 25, 1958.
Lois is survived by her husband Paul of Lincoln, KS; daughters, Paula Currey (Steve) of Rose Hill, KS and Saralyn Newell (Don) of Topeka; sons, Joel Kuchera (Valerie) of Quinter, KS and Jon Paul Kuchera (Jane) of Wamego, KS; ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; and sister Janice Janasek (Ron) of Manhattan, KS. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Vivian Erickson.
A memorial service will take place at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 8, 2022, at the Lincoln United Methodist Church.
