Lillian Heinze Obituary

From: Reinert
Lillian D. (Nunn) Heinze-Reinert, 87, of Lincoln, Kansas, died Saturday, March 21, 2015, in Lincoln. Lillian was born in rural Lincoln County on May 30, 1927, to Grant J. Nunn, Sr. and Ana (Cheney) Nunn. She attended Denmark Grade School, and graduated from Vesper High School in 1945. She received her teaching certificate and taught at the Trail Creek Country School for a few years. On May 4, 1947, Lillian was confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church and on May 11, 1947, she married Leonard Heinze. To this union was born four children; Gregory A. of Luray, Patricia A. Biggs of Barnard, James L. of Apple Valley, MN, and Debra M. Minear of Lincoln. She was very active in the Lincoln Sr. Center, enjoying arts and crafts, cards, and other activities. She was also active in the VFW Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, Denmark Dames and LWML at the church. Lillian spent many years as a cook for the Vesper, Beverly, and Lincoln schools. In 1970 she became the secretary for the Lincoln County Extension office, where she was employed for 28 years. She enjoyed working with the 4-H children and served as a Foods judge for many years all across Kansas. Well-known for her green thumb, she passed this trait along to her children and grandchildren. Amidst all her activities, she found time to devote to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who were the most important part of her life. She attended as many of their activities as she could, cheering and rooting them on. She was preceded in death by her husbands Leonard C. Heinze in 1985 and John M. Reinert in 2001; brothers, Grant Jr., Robert, Kenneth Ray, and Bill Joe Nunn; and two grandchildren. Left to celebrate her life include family members Gregory A. (Kathleen) Heinze of Luray; James L.
