From: Topeka KS Leslie LaVerne "Vern" Brumbaugh, 87, of Topeka, passed away Monday, January 23, 2017. He was born August 11, 1929, in Vesper, Kansas, the son of Leslie Leroy Brumbaugh and Ruth Olive Shaw. Vern served in the Army Reserve from January 1, 1951 through January 1, 1953. He worked for Frisbe Bridge Company and was a loyal member of the Local #1445 Carpenters Union for 60 years. On November 15, 1958, in Topeka, Vern married Virginia Ruth Witt. She survives. Other survivors include daughter, Joni (Gerry) Herzog of Leavenworth; sons, Bill (Stephanie) Brumbaugh of Valley Center, California and Bruce (Tammy) Brumbaugh of Topeka; and four grandsons. A memorial visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, January 27, 2017, at Dove Cremation & Funeral Service. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. at Vesper Cemetery.
