Leroy Budreau Obituary

From: Lincoln KS
Leroy Paul "Bud" Budreau, 88, of Lincoln, KS, passed away Monday, May 13, 2019, in Lincoln, KS. He was born May 1, 1931, in Concordia, KS, to Louis N. and Lena (Hubert) Budreau. Left to celebrate his life include: sons, Daryl Budreau (Lori), of Lincoln, KS, Doug Budreau (Linda), of Lincoln, Scott Budreau (Tami), of Salina, KS, Ryan Budreau (Michelle), of Wamego, KS; daughters, Geralyn Price, of Minneapolis, KS, Susan Godley (Sean), of Loveland, CO; daughter-in-law, Konnie Budreau, of Lincoln, KS; sisters-in-law, Emma Budreau, of Jamestown, KS, Anita Budreau, of Clay Center, KS; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: his parents; wife, Constance "Connie" Chaput Budreau; sons, Eric Girard Budreau and LeRoy Paul Budreau II; son-in-law, Myron Price. Bud was raised on a farm north of Concordia, KS, with his parents and two brothers. As the farm bordered on the Republican River, when not working the farm, he enjoyed fishing and hunting with his family, a lifelong passion. He worked at Boogaarts Supermarket while in high school. In 1951, he married Connie Chaput, and joined the Coast Guard for a three year enlistment. His first child, Lee, was born shortly before his return to Kansas. He again found employment with Boogaarts, where he worked for 19 years, his family growing to six with Daryl, Doug, Scott, Geralyn, and Eric. Sadly, Eric passed at the age of five, succumbing to leukemia. Forced into a career change in 1972, Bud worked for Farm Bureau Insurance Company as an agent for Lincoln County until he retired. During the Lincoln years he completed his family with the birth of Susan and Ryan. Always the grocery man, he partnered ownership in Mity Mart Convenience Store for more than a decade. Connie passed in 2001, but Bud was never truly alone and enjoyed his children, grandchildren, and even great-grandchildren over the last few years. Visitation: 1-7:00 P.M. Friday, May 17, at Hall Chapel, Lincoln, with family receiving friends 5-7:00 P.M. The Rosary will be said at 7:00 P.M. Service: 10:30 A.M.
