John Allen Prewett, 87, of Lincoln, KS, died Monday, February 15, 2016, in Lincoln. John was born in rural Mitchell County, on December 17, 1928, to Ernest and Alice (Yunker) Prewett. He was preceded in death by: his parents; son, Larry John Prewett; brother, LV Prewett; and infant sister, Ardith Elaine. Left to celebrate his life include: his wife, Maxine (Schwerdtfeger) Rogers Prewett, of the home; son, Mike (Cheryl) Prewett, of Andover; daughter, Teresa Benton, of Augusta; brother, Richard (Betty) Prewett, of Arkansas City; sister, Mary B. Miller (Lew Rogers), of Florida; sister-in-law, Myrna Prewett, of Beloit; grandchildren, Clint Norris, Jennifer Painter, Samantha Weiss, and Chase Prewett; great-granchildren, Korbin Painter, Emma Painter, Harrison Painter, and Camden Weiss. Visitation: 1-7:00 P.M. Friday, February 19th, at Hall Chapel, Lincoln. Family present 5-7:00 P.M. Funeral: 10:00 A.M. Saturday, February 20th, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Ellsworth, with interment following in Old Ellsworth Cemetery.
