John William Davis, 88, of Lincoln, KS, died Thursday, March 10, 2016, in Beloit, KS. John was born in rural Lincoln County, on September 10, 1927, to William Henry and Gladys (Bollier) Davis. John lived in the Lincoln area his whole life. He worked for the Lincoln County Highway Department and for various constructions companies around Kansas. His true love was farming; he especially liked climbing on the combine during wheat harvest. John loved the outdoors where he could hunt, trap and fish. At home he loved his woodcrafts and growing vegetables in his garden. John and Renata enjoyed when the two of them could go dancing. John was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church. He was preceded in death by: his parents; wife, Renata Pauline Wacker; son, Ronald; brothers, Ralph, Ward and Firman; sisters, Dottie Urbanek, Dorothy Kobbeman and Ruth Panzer. Left to celebrate his life include: sons, Glen (Joy) Davis, of Pratt, Donald (Jeanine) Davis, of Wakarusa; daughter, Delores Schwinn, of Emporia; daughter-in-law, Debbie Davis, of Leavenworth; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Visitation: 1-7:00 P.M. Monday, March 14, 2016, at Hall Chapel, Lincoln. Family present 5-7:00 P.M. Funeral: 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at Hall Chapel, with interment following in Lincoln City Cemetery.
