Janice May (Huston) Hurlbut, 64, of Sylvan Grove, died in Salina on November 1, 2015. Janice was born May 22, 1951, in Sioux City, Iowa, the youngest of three children of Gordon "Sam" and Inez (Stordahl) Huston. In 1962 Janice's family moved from Iowa to Sylvan Grove where her dad worked on the construction crew that helped build the Wilson Dam. Janice attended Sylvan Grove High School and graduated in 1969. On September 5, 1969, in Camdenton, MO, she married Ronnie Hurlbut. Their 46-year marriage was blessed with two children, David and Dana. The family made their home in Sylvan Grove. Janice was a Certified Nursing Assistant and worked in the Lincoln and Lucas nursing homes. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who will be missed greatly by all her friends and family. She is survived by: her husband Ronnie; son David (Marcy) Hurlbut and their five children Danelle, Gabby, Marshall, MeKelle and Aubrelle; daughter Dana (Nathan) Karlin of Lenexa and their two children, Avery and Chase; brother Bernell (Carol) Huston of Phoenix, AZ; sister Judy (Charlie) Sanders of Jefferson City, MO; and seven grandchildren. Janice was preceded in death by: her parents. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 4, 2015, in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Sylvan Grove.
