James Wesley Bunch, Sr., 83, passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2020 in Newton, KS. He was born April 6, 1937 in Lincoln, KS to James Jack and Marjorie (Doll) Bunch. James retired from the US Army after serving 25 years and fighting in the Vietnam War. After retiring from the Army, he spent many years as a hired man working at different farms and ranches. He was also a member of the VFW. James is survived by his sons, Jerry Bunch (Rhonda) of Concordia, KS, Jack Bunch (Lois) of Halstead, KS, and Jeff Bunch (Leann) of Larned, KS; step-sons, Scott Walker (Stephanie) of Morton, WA and Bill Walker (Mary) of Topeka, KS; sister, Pat Manning of Perkins, OK; 19 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Lila Mae (Staley) Bunch; son, James Wesley, Jr.; second wife, Dorothy Gaye (Springs) Bunch; brothers, Roger and Dee Bunch; and sisters, Lois McDonald, Delma Weaver, Betty Salyers, Shirley Staley, and Verna Laning. A private graveside service will be held at Lincoln Cemetery. A celebration of life service will be planned at a later date by the family. Parsons Funeral Home - Hall Chapel in Lincoln is handling arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice of Newton, c/o, Parsons Funeral Home - Hall Chapel, 111 E.
