Hilga Christena Parsons, 90, died Friday, July 13, 2012, in Lincoln, KS. She was born November 21, 1921, in Lincoln County, KS, to Hans M. and Mary E. (Jensen) Nelson. She graduated from Lincoln High School, then attended Normal Training at Ft. Hays, going on to teach in rural one room schools for 13 years. Hilga was a homemaker and farm wife, and was active in many clubs and organizations. She married Archie "Dale" Parsons June 3, 1948. She was preceded in death by her husband, Archie "Dale" Parsons, who passed away September 3, 1982; her parents; brothers Lex M. Nelson and Martin A. Nelson. Survivors include: sister Goldie (Bill) Wiebke, Lincoln, KS; sisters-in-law Doreen Nelson of Minden, IA, Helen Nelson of Lincoln, KS, and Neva Jean Harberer of Luray, KS; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation - 1:00-7:00 P.M. Sunday, July 15, at Hall Chapel. Family will be present from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Funeral service - 10:00 A.M. Monday, July 16 at Hall Chapel, with Pastor Kaye Metzler officiating. Interment followed in Lincoln City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Lincoln United Methodist Church or donor's choice in care of the funeral home.
