Emajeanne (Lewick) Gates

  Emajeanne (Lewick) Gates, 75, passed away Thursday, August 14, 2025 in McPherson, KS. She was born November 7, 1949 in Lincoln, KS to Robert and Leahmae (Musselman) Lewick. After graduating high school, Emajeanne attended college on a music scholarship but left to join the United States Air Force. She was a former member of the Fort Walton Beach, FL American Legion Post 235 and former First Vice Commander of the post. Emajeanne married Edgar Gates in Fort Walton Beach on June 5, 1987. They were married for nearly 40 years deeply impacting each other’s lives until the end.

  Emajeanne is survived by her husband Edgar of McPherson. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, James and Donald Lewick.

  Graveside service: 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 22, 2025 at Lincoln Cemetery.
