From: Lincoln KS Elton F. Oetting, 77, of Lincoln, passed away Saturday, August 14th, at Lincoln Park Manor. He was born in Lincoln on May 23, 1933, to Henry E. Oetting and Gertrude Marie (Wilbeck) Oetting. He was a farmer/stockman by trade. He leaves behind his wife, Anna Oetting; son Jerry and his wife, Phyllis, of Beloit; step-sons Alan Bowley and wife, Tina, of Abilene, and Don Bowley and wife, Paula, of Abilene; daughters Nolta Swartzman of Beloit, Nancy Gasche and husband, Gregg, of Hartford, KS, and Brenda Brown and husband, Lester, of Moundridge, KS; step-daughters Audrey Watts and husband, Kevin and Linda Showalter, all of Abilene; sister Darlene Fischer and husband, Edgar, of Salina; 10 grandchildren, 16 step-grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 10 great step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-son, Leslie Bowley; four brothers, Wilbur, Loren, Harold David and Alton; son-in-law James Swartzman. He married Frances Kadel in 1954 and they had four children together, Nolta, Nancy, Jerry and Brenda. He later married Ann Bowley on May 21, 2003. He worked as a farmer, dirt contractor, auctioneer and truck driver. His hobbies include working in the yard and growing flowers. He attended the United Methodist Church of Lincoln, Kansas. He came to live at Lincoln Park Manor on February 23, 2010. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 18th from 1:00 to 7:00 P.M., with family present from 5:00 to 7:00. The memorial service will be held at United Methodist Church in Lincoln at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, August 19th, with interment immediately following at Lincoln City Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions to Hospice Care of Kansas in lieu of flowers. ยป
