Duane Kenneth Cheney of Lincoln, KS, died October 21, 2011, in Lincoln, KS, at the age of 87 years 7 months and 12 days. He is survived by his wife Marjorie Marie (Nelson) Cheney, sons Dan and Steve and Steve's wife Krista, all of Sylvan Grove, and daughter Glenda Bartholomew and her husband Donn of Ottawa KS. He also is survived by three grandchildren, Darrick Bartholomew, Amber and Garrett Cheney, and two great-grandchildren, Aiden Acher Bartholomew and Bretta Grace Buche. Duane was born March 9, 1924, in Vesper, KS, to Joseph Bond and Mildred E. (Shafer) Cheney. Duane was a noted farmer/stockman all his life. He was preceded in death by grandson Justin Bond Bartholomew. Visitation will be October 24, 2011, from 1 to 7 PM at the Hall Chapel, with family in attendance 6 to 7 PM. The funeral service will be on October 25, 2011, at 10:30 at the Lincoln United Methodist Church with interment following in the Vesper Cemetery.
