Deloise Fange Obituary

From: Lincoln KS
Deloise "Dee" (Richards) Von Fange, 70, of Lincoln, KS, died Monday, May 14, 2018, in Lincoln. She was born March 23, 1948, in Sylvan Grove, to Raymond Vern and Martha (Murer) Richards. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Bill Richards. Left to celebrate her life include: her spouse, Clarence Von Fange, of the home; sons, Melvin Von Fange, of Salina, and Jon Von Fange, of Broken Arrow, OK; brother, Virgil "Ken" (Dottie) Richards, of Wichita, KS; sister, Evelyn Hamilton, of Colorado Springs, CO; 3 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; brother-in-law, Larry (Quenana) Liggett, of Tescott; sister-in-law, Sandie (Keith) Sullivan, of Prescott Valley, AZ; and a long list of cousins, nieces, and nephews. Deloise Von Fange, better known as Dee or DeeDee to family and friends, was the youngest of four children. She was born in Sylvan Grove, KS, and was baptized and confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She attended Bethlehem Lutheran School through 8th grade, before going to public school. While working as a waitress at Park Hotel in Lincoln, KS, she met her future husband, Clarence Von Fange. They were married 52 years and had two sons, Melvin and Jon. In her younger years, many vacations were spent at Wilson Lake. As she became older, many day trips were spent site-seeing to observe birds, butterflies, flowers, and nature. She was in awe of the sights Kansas has to offer. She could often be seen on "walks" around town in her motorized scooter, with Clarence. Among the many things Dee enjoyed were crocheting and painting woodworking projects that Clarence made. She was a bookworm, and loved reading mysteries and anything relating to Kansas nature and history. She also had quite a collection of owls of all sizes, shapes and materials. She really enjoyed when the granddaughters could make it to Lincoln for holidays. She spoiled them as well as the granddogs. Dee and Clarence enjoyed going to their nieces' (Lindsy and Larissa Liggett) recitals and school functions. They were almost like grandchildren, as their own were not in close proximity. Dee was a loving wife, mom, grandma, aunt, and friend to many, and will be missed by all. Visitation: 1-7:00 P.M. Friday, May 18, at Hall Chapel, Lincoln, with family receiving friends 5-7:00 P.M. Service: 10:00 A.M. Saturday, May 19, at St. John Lutheran Church, Lincoln, with interment following in St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Lincoln. Memorials may be made to St. John Lutheran Church. ยป View what others have shared.
