Arletha F. Slater, of Lincoln, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2016. She was born in Wellington, KS, to Artie and Blanche (Siddons) Almack. Arletha taught elementary school for 40 years in Colorado and Kansas. She enjoyed traveling, exploring the Colorado mountains, birdwatching, sewing, arts and crafts, volunteering for various community services, and spending time with family. She was predeceased by her parents and infant grandson. Left to celebrate her life include: her husband of 60 years, Bob Slater; daughter, Tammy (Marvin) Maples, of Liberty, MO; sister, Darline Lungren, of Grove, OK; grandchildren, Taylor Maples, of Arvada, CO, and Savannah (Alex) Entin of Colorado Springs, CO; great-grandson Mason Entin. A Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 12, at Lincoln United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established at Lincoln United Methodist Church, 216 N. 4th Street, Lincoln, KS 67455. » View what others have shared.
